Theatre N at Nemours is Wilmington's only independent film cinema, featuring first-run films in digital high definition with Dolby 5.1 surround sound, as well as operas and ballets that have been recorded live from various venues throughout the world. Theatre N is a project of the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, and opened in October, 2002. It is located in the Nemours Building, which is owned by the Buccini-Pollin Group, who are sponsors of the theatre and renovated it for this use. Theatre N seats 221 people and is open Friday- Sunday for regularly scheduled films year round. Ticket prices are $7 for general admission and $5 for matinees, seniors and students. Parking is validated for $1 at the City Center Garage at 11th & Tatnall Streets, and metered parking is free after 6 pm weeknights and on the weekends. Concession are $1, and the theatre has a liquor license and serves beer and wine. Tickets can be ordered in advance for all shows by going to the website at www.theatren.org.
