We think there's nothing better than living in the City of Wilmington-but don't take our word for it, get it straight from the folks who live here!

"The riverfront is the place to be. We call ourselves "rah-rah riverfront people!" Residential development is a real turning point and we wanted to be a part of it. Knowing that I could walk across the bridge to work is a dream come true! The development is positive for the city and a plus for people relocating here. It's a lifestyle choice. What is not to like about being able to walk a few feet from your doorstep and find a riverwalk, retail stores, restaurants, a minor league baseball stadium, and offerings of arts and culture? And, my husband is thrilled that he doesn't have to mow the lawn or shovel snow anymore.

We are living in the River Tower condominums. The idea of a "room with a view" has taken on a whole new meaning. I have to pinch myself to ask if I am really living so high in the sky. We love watching sunrises and sunsets with the city skyline around us. The riverfront is being brought to life in a way that honors its past, celebrates its presence and realizes its possible potential.

"I am proud and privileged to call the City of Wilmington my home. My neighborhood, Cool Spring, is a close-knit community of friendly people, great architecture and tree-lined streets. The small-town feel in an urban area is unparalleled and working within minutes of where I live is priceless.

The quiet streets of Cool Spring are just outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Wilmington. Downtown is alive with corporate dealings, fine dining, cultural destinations and an active nightlife. People can step out of their offices and find what they need in the many retail shops lining Market Street or grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants along the way.

Wilmington continues to build on its strong business and tourism foundation while enhancing the many elements that make it a great place to live, play and prosper."

"I guess it never really occurred to me NOT to live near my place of employment - currently, a six minute walk. I like being close to the Riverfront Market and the Riverwalk places like the Russell Peterson nature preserve along the Christina River.

I enjoy the proximity of great restaurants/bars such as Washington Street Ale House, Mikimotos, Domaine Hudson, Cafe Mezzanote and Bernie's. Being close to my banks and the Post Office is an advantage as well."

"I live in Little Italy and I can't imagine making my home anywhere else. I love the old-world, traditional feel of the neighborhood, where the neighbors all know each other, get the mail when one is away on vacation and sit on the porch.

Along with the traditional feel, is the convenience of the modern world with bars, restaurants, bakeries and more within walking distance. One of my favorite times of year is when the Italian Festival adds a new vibrancy to the neighborhood each June!"
